HENRY JOHNSTON IS BURIED HERE

Long-Time Resident Died on Friday in St. Louis, Missouri

Henry R. Johnston, a resident of the Winterset community most of his life, died last Friday at a nursing home in St. Louis, Mo. He was 89 years of age.

Mr. Johnston was a native of Illinois and was born near Bloomington on June 6, 1858, the son of John N. and Margaret Johnston. He was married to Lilly S. Nickerson on March, 25, 1885. They were the parents of four children.

In 1892 he came to Madison county with his family and his parents. They settled on a farm five miles west of Winterset. From that time until 10 years ago, when he moved to St. Louis, his home was in or near Winterset.

Mr. Johnston's wife died in 1923. He is survived by the four children, Charles L. Johnston, Howard Johnston and Mrs. Alice Radke, all of St. Louis, and Mrs. Alma Fosher of Winterset; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Monday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Howard Strong, pastor of the Winterset Presbyterian church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
