Earl Wayne Brown, 82, of Washington, Iowa, died Jan. 10, 2005, at the Washington County Hospital in Washington.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. Everett Burham officiating. Visitation will be held before the service — from 10–11 a.m. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Green Lawn Cemetery in Afton.
Earl Brown was born May 5, 1922, to Walter and Bessie (Hammans) Brown of rural Afton. On Nov. 18, 1945, he married Enid Ames in Afton. A graduate of the Drake University College of Pharmacy in Des Moines, Earl was a former partner in the Montross Pharmacy in Winterset. In 1968, he moved to Fairfield and established the Brown Pharmacy with Keith Glenn. He was a member of the Fairfield First United Methodist Church and a United States Air Force veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Faye Olinger and Arelen Robken.
He is survived by his wife, Enid, of Washington; one son, Martin Brown of New York, N.Y.; and one daughter, Linda Brown of Iowa City.
