February 10, 1960H. V. JACOBSON Of Winterset Dies
H. V. Jacobsen, a resident of Winterset the last 12 years, died here at Memorial hospital Friday, Feb. 5, 1960, following a heart attack. He was 71 years of age.
Mr. Jacobson was a native of Denmark, where he was born at Stestrup on Nov. 24, 1888, a son of Peter and Mary Jensen Jacobson. He came to America with his parents in 1890, and the family settled in Adair county. The remainder of his life was spent farming in Adair county, until his retirement 12 years ago, when he moved to Winterset.
He was married July 22, 1914, to Bertha M. Huff. They were parents of four daughters.
He was a member of the Danish Lutheran church.
Surviving are his wife; the three daughters, Mrs. Leonard Ahl of Dexter, Mrs. George Eddy of Stuart, and Mrs. John Gomez of Stuart; 10 grandchildren; four sisters and four brothers, Fred Jacobson of Fontanelle, Mrs. Roy Crees, Mrs. Hanna Crees, Mrs. Elvena Mangles, Mrs. Carl Tilk, and Frodie, Jim and Lawrence Jacobson, all of Greenfield.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Bickford-Murray Funeral home in Greenfield, conducted by the Rev. B. J. Ukena. Burial was made in the Greenfield cemetery.
