EARL THOMPSON Services Friday

Earl W. Thompson, a life-long resident of Madison county and Winterset, died Wednesday, February 3, 1960, at Memorial hospital in Winterset, after several years of failing health. He was 72 years of age.

Mr. Thompson was born in Madison county, March 29, 1887, a son of James and Flora Gooden Thompson. His early life was spent in farming. After that he was with the state highway commission for 22 years, before retiring in 1953.

He was married May 18, 1916, to Beatrice George who survives him. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Will Cummins of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. John Fink, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church of Winterset. Burial was made, with Masonic graveside services, in the Winterset cemetery.
