Services for Donald "Doc" Johnston, 57, Winterset, who died at the Madison County Memorial Hospital, will be held Friday, March 31, at 10:00 a.m. at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. John Shaull officiating. Burial will be at the Winterset Cemetery.
Born in Tingley on May 12, 1931, he was the son of James and Agnes Reynolds Johnston. Mr. Johnston was retired from the Iowa DOT maintenance garage and had lived in Winterset since 1941. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He was married to Wanda Beard on Nov. 22, 1949 at Creston.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Dick of Creston and James, Thomas and Larry, all of Winterset; a daughter, Debbie Breeding of Winterset; brothers, Duane of Council Bluffs and Delbert of Winterset; sisters, Roberta Todd of Denver, Colo., Anna Collins, Lucy Smith and Sharon Clyde all of Winterset; and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
