Roland LaVerne Thompson of R. R. 2, Lorimor died Thursday, Feb. 21, 1980, at Greater Community Hospital in Creston at the age of 64. A farmer, Mr. Thompson had lived on the same farm for 39 years.

Born on Feb. 7, 1916, at Atlantic, he was the son of Marinus and Mary Anderson Thompson. On April 15, 1939, he was united in marriage to Nina Grandfield. His wife survives him.

Also surviving are a son, Lynn Thompson of Macksburg, and four grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 25, at the United Methodist Church in Macksburg with Rev. John Ackerman officiating. Burial was at Moon Cemetery.
