Muriel Lemeda Johnson, 90, of Winterset died of congestive heart failure April 8, 1999 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 12, at Wood Mortuary in Golden, Colo., with Pastor Paul Rosentrater. Burial was at Crown Hill Cemetery in Lakewood, Colo.

Muriel Johnson was born Aug. 27, 1908 in Madison County to Clifford M. and Winefred (Frazier) Robison. She married Ira Johnson on Feb. 28, 1928 in Winterset. A resident of Madison County most of her life, she had lived in Golden, Colo., from 1961 to 1981. Muriel retired as a cook at the former Gold Buffet Dining Room and at the former Horton's Nursing Home. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, one sister and one grandson.

She is survived by one son, Clifford W. Johnson (wife Lola Ann) of Golden; two daughters, Kathryn M. Emerson (husband Harold) of Winterset and Edith Joan Gulliksen (husband John) of Silt, Colo.,; one brother, Curtis Robison of Indianola; one sister, Merletta Simmons of Winterset; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.

Muriel Johnson, 90, of Winterset died of a heart ailment Thursday at Madison County Memorial Hospital there. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Wood Mortuary in Golden, Colo. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Lakewood, Colo.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Madison County and had lived in Golden from 1962 until 1981, when she returned to Madison County. She was a retired cook and a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Winterset.

Among survivors are a son, Clifford of Golden; two daughters, Kathryn Emerson of Winterset and Edith Gulliksen of Silt, Colo.; a brother, Curtis Robison of Indianola; a sister, Merietta Simmons of Winterset; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Collins Funeral Home in Winterset is handling arrangements.
