NINA THOMPSON, Winterset

Nina Marie Thompson, 84, of Winterset died May 3, 2001, at her home.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 7, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Robert Barrick officiating. Burial was at Moon Cemetery, Grand River Township, Macksburg.

Nina Thompson was born March 10, 1917, in Union County to Oliver and Anna (Audlehelm) Grandfield. She married Roland L. Thompson on April 15, 1939. They spent their married lives living in Madison County. A homemaker, Nina assisted her husband on the farm. She was a member of the Winterset and Macksburg Methodist Churches, Canton Lodge, Rebekah Lodge and Past Noble Grands (of which she was awarded the degree of Chivalry).

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by a son, Lynn Thompson (wife Judy) of Macksburg; four grandsons; and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service and Aftercare in Winterset.
