Jill Johnson, Winterset

Jill Kimberly Johnson, 16, of Winterset, died September 9, 1997 at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services were September 12 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset with Father Ed Pheffer and Father Frank Palmer officiating the 10 a.m. services. The St. Joseph Music Ministry provided music. Burial followed at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born in Winterset to Dean Martin and Sharon Mae (Wedburg) Johnson on February 25, 1981. She was a junior at Winterset High School and was heavily involved in school activities such as FBLA; was freshman and junior class president; WHS-TV; cross country track; basketball; volleyball; softball; T-Teens; Hoby Ambassadors; CCD; Boomerang staff; and was also a wrestling cheerleader. She was also involved in St. Joseph Catholic Church as a member of the Love is Patient team and was an altar server. She was member of the 4-H Friendship Group and was a lifetime resident of Madison County.

Surviving relatives include her parents; and her grandparents, Joy and Evelyn Johnson of Bloomfield, Neb.
