HAZEL JOHNSON OF WINTERSET DIES

Death Occurred Sunday at Memorial Hospital Aged 67 Years

Mrs. Hazel M. Johnson, a life-time resident of the Winterset community, died Sunday, October 11, at Memorial hospital here. She was 67 years of age.

Mrs. Johnson was the former Hazel Marie Howard, daughter of George and Sarah Moore Howard. She was born here Sept. 16, 1897. She was married to Earnest A. Johnson, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Baptist church.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Beem of Winterset; one grandson, Bruce Eldon Beem; four brothers, Ernest and Lawrence Howard of California, Alfred Howard of Murray and John Howard of Winterset; and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Rowley of Winterset and Mrs. Vera Welshons of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Wilson Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Don Houghton of the Adventist Church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
