1979Earl Johnson Rites Saturday
Funeral services for Earl Johnson of Adel were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 22, at Collins Funeral Home. Burial was at Pleasant View Cemetery with Rev. Charles Updike officiating. Mr. Johnson died Thursday, December 20, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 75.
Born On October 1, 1904 in Guthrie County, he was the son of Charles and Francis Clark Johnson. He lived and farmed in Madison County from 1950 until his retirement in 1969. Mr. Johnson was an army veteran of World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 184.
Among the survivors are a brother, Wilbur Johnson of Denver, Colo.; three sisters, Hazel Schoonover of Denver, Colo., Florence Little of Ankeny and Mable Salsbury of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
