DAVID H. THOMPSON Of Van Meter Dies

David H. Thompson of near Van Meter died last Thursday Dec. 10, 1965, at the age of 88 years.

A son of Joseph and Harriet Thompson, he was born at Centerville on Aug. 18, 1877. He was married at Winterset on March 3, 1902, to Emma A. Addy. They lived their entire life on a farm in Madison County.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Rogers of Portland, Ore.; two sons, Glenn Thompson of Winterset and Clarence Thompson of Van Meter; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Harriet Scott of Rockford, Ill.; a half sister, Verdie, of Minneapolis, Minn.; a step-sister, Mrs. Carrie McDonald of Winterset; and a step-brother Dewey Violet of Harlem, Mont.

He was a member of the E.U.B. church, having joined the Jefferson church early in life.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Fisher Funeral home in Van Meter, in charge of the Rev. Donald Jones. Burial was made in the North McDonald cemetery.
