HARLEY THOMPSON, Des Moines

Services for Harley Thompson, 81, Des Moines, who died last Thursday, Aug. 20, 1987, at Veterans Administration Medical Center, were held Monday, Aug. 24, at Hamilton's Funeral Home with burial at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Thompson was born in Scranton and lived in Peru before going to Des Moines in 1936. He retired in 1967 from C. E. Erickson Co., where he was a foreman in the paint department.

He was a World War II veteran and was preceded in death by his wife, Edith, and son, Robert.

Survivors include two daughters, Judith Gearheart of Ankeny and Betty Thomas of Des Moines; a son Larry of Des Moines; a sister, Florence Bruett of Winterset; nine grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.
