Harriet Marie Thompson, 80, died of a heart ailment Tuesday, December 30, 1997, at the Community Care Center in Winterset, Iowa.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Jon Gaul officiating. Burial was at North McDonald Cemetery in Madison County, Iowa.
Harriet Marie Thompson was born July 15, 1917, in Murray, Iowa, to Virgil and Carolyn Harsh Jones. She married Clarence V. Thompson on Aug. 23, 1933, at Centerville, Iowa. She was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of Madison County. She also was a member of the Patterson United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband; her three daughters, Maris Snyder and husband Duane of Patterson, Cheryl Wedemeyer and husband Roy of Carlisle, and Doris F. Shambaugh of Winterset; three brothers, Pearl Jones, Lisle Jones and Merrill (Bud) Jones, all of Fontanelle; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
