A funeral service was held Monday, May 17, at First United Methodist Church in Winterset for Mary Lucille Neidt of Winterset, who died May 13, 1982, at Madison County Memorial Hospital at the age of 89.

Born in Des Moines on Dec. 12, 1892, she was the daughter of Cortez and Hannah Owens Lynch.

On Jan. 4, 1917 she married Charles H. Neidt in Des Moines. Mr. Neidt died on Jan. 4, 1980.

A homemaker, she also taught two years at Norwalk High School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Winterset Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, served as county chairman of the Federated Womens' Clubs of Madison County for two years and was a member of the Past Matrons Club, the Columbian Club and the Federated Womens' Club.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and 4 sisters. Survivors include a son, Charles O. Neidt of Ft. Collins, Col.; a daughter, Josephine Cleven of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Rev. Byron Ayers officiated at the funeral service. Burial was in Winterset Cemetery.
