Roy Jenkins of Winterset died at the Madison County Memorial Hospital on Friday Aug. 7, at the age of 83.
The son of Joseph Jeremiah and Mary Elizabeth Gonder Jenkins, Roy was born Sept. 18, 1897 near Bridgewater.
He married Evea Jameson April 20, 1921. He farmed until later years when he operated a shoe repair shop in Winterset until his retirement several years ago.
Survivors include his wife, son Kenneth of Bellflower, Calif., three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, Aug. 10, at the Bickford-Murray Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Wayne Norris officiating. Interment was made at Greenfield Cemetery.
