Winterset Madisonian - Wed., June 6, 1945

John Wilkinson, formerly of Madison county, died May 27 at Broadlawns hospital in Des Moines, after a short illness. He was 68 years of age.

Mr. Wilkinson was born in Madison county on Nov. 14, 1876, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wilkinson. He is survived by his wife; and one son, Bernard Wilkinson of California; and four grandchildren. Another son, Otis, preceded the father in death. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. George Shoemaker of Winterset, and Mrs. Floyd McKinnis of Des Moines; and three brothers, Caleb and Elmer Wilkinson of Des Moines, and Roland Wilkinson of Rockford, Ill.

Funeral services were conducted last Thursday from the Hamilton Funeral home in Des Moines, and burial was made at Laurel Hill cemetery.
