Everett Jeffs, Peru

Graveside services for Everett Luther Jeffs, formerly of Peru, were held last Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Peru cemetery. Mr. Jeffs died Aug. 16 at Bethesda Care Center in Winterset at the age of 91.

A son of Edwin Oscar and Frances Cook Jeffs, he was born in Walnut township on Sept. 26, 1896. He was employed as a Madison county road maintainer and at the Booster station near Truro.

Surviving are a brother, Charles Jeffs of Winterset; two nieces, Jo Ann Wiley of Adel and Esther Allen of Winterset; and other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.

Officiating at the graveside service was the Rev. Ann Louise Weisenfluh of Truro.
