Delia Jeffs, Barney

Delia M. Jeffs, 95, of Barney, died Wednesday, March 2, at the Winterset Care Center North.

Services were held Friday, March 4, at the Watts- Lindsay Golden Rule Funeral home, Lorimor. The Rev. Sally A. Robinson officiated with burial in the Clarke Cemetery in Madison County.

Mrs. Jeffs was born Jan. 13, 1893 in Kasson to Edwin and Frances (Cook) Jeffs. She married James L. Jeffs, April 24, 1912 in Creston. He died Dec. 13, 1959.

She was a lifetime Madison county resident and attended Madison County schools. After her husband's death she continued to live in Barney with her son until entering the nursing home on Nov. 27, 1987. She was a homemaker and a member of the Barney Christian Church and the Ladies Aid of the Barney Christian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Doris (Mrs. Raymond) Rickets of Winterset; a son, Alfred Jeffs of Barney; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Everett and Charlie Jeffs of Winterset.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Harold and Kenneth, two daughters, Lenora and Gertrude; four brothers, four sisters and a grandson.
