Mrs. Vivian Egy, a life-long resident of this community, died last Thursday at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines following a brief illness. She was 43 years of age.

Mrs. Egy was the former Vivian Louise Ridout, daughter of Samuel and Kathryn Ridout, and was born in this county Sept. 9, 1901. She was reared in the Oak Grove community. She graduated from the Winterset high school, following which she taught in the rural schools of the county for four years.

She was married Oct. 1, 1923, to Glenn Egy. They were the parents of two sons, and a daughter, who died in infancy.

She is survived by her former husband; the two sons, Dean Egy of Long Beach, Calif., and David Egy of the U.S. Navy; her parents; five sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral services were held Monday from Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. W. A. Samp of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
