Frank L. Drennan, a leading Winterset business man for 31 years, died at his home here last Thursday morning after a lingering illness. He was 74 years of age.

Mr. Drennan was a native of Missouri, where he was born at Quitman, on Oct. 28, 1870. As a young man he was married in 1902 to Pearl England. They lived in Emerson and Glenwood, Ia., and in California, before coming to Winterset in 1908, where they spent the remainder of their lives.

Mr. Drennan started in the lumber business here on Jan. 1, 1909, in the yard he had purchased from Anthes Brothers. He continued in that business until July, 1940, when he sold out to the Eclipse Lumber company and retired.

In the years he spent in this community he became one of its most respected and influential citizens.

Mr. Drennan was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jane, and by his wife, who died in 1929.

His nearest surviving relative is a daughter, Mrs. George J. Finck of Flushing, N.Y. He also leaves a granddaughter, Judith Ann Finck.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Winterset Presbyterian church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Arthur Mortenson.

Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
