Wednesday, November 22, 1944Mrs. Ed Peacock, long-time resident of Winterset, died suddenly here last Saturday. She was 62 years of age.
Mrs. Peacock was born in this county on July 29, 1882, and with the exception of a few years in Des Moines had lived all her life here. She was the former Etta Acheson, daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Acheson.
About 1908 she was married to Buren Locke. They were the parents of one son, Raymond.
In 1915, her second marriage occurred, to Ed Peacock, who survives her.
In addition to her husband, she leaves the son, Corp. Raymond Locke of the U.S. army, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday from Anderson's Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Melvin Hansen, pastor of the Foursquare church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
