Mrs. Thomas N. Lyons, a resident of the Truro community since childhood, died at her home there Oct. 28 at the age of 76 years.

Mrs. Lyons was the former Mary Elenor Taylor, daughter of John and Sarah Taylor, and was born near Abingdon, Ill., on June 4, 1868. She came with her parents to Iowa when a small child and spent her early life near Truro.

On Jan. 20, 1892, she was married to Thomas N. Lyons. They were the parents of five children, one of whom, Nola Ferne, died in 1903.

Mr. and Mrs. Lyons' married life was spent near Truro, New Virginia and St. Marys. Because of failing health, they moved into Truro in 1940. On Jan. 20, 1942, they celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary.

She is survived by her husband; four children, Mrs. Lee Keller of New Virginia, Mrs. Harry DeLong of Truro, Mrs. Lester Donelson of Clarinda, and Raymond J. Lyons of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a brother, James H. Taylor of Truro.

Funeral services were held from the Truro Methodist church Oct. 30, in charge of the Rev. James A. Worrell. Burial was made in the Young cemetery.
