George William Light, a resident of this community for many years, died last Thursday at Kansas City, Mo., where he had gone recently to the home of his son, Claude A. Light.

Mr. Light was 81 years of age. He was a native of Douglas county, Illinois, where he was born Nov. 16, 1862. He was married to Linnie M. Hoots on July 29, 1886. They were the parents of six children, four of whom preceded the father in death.

He is survived by his wife; the son in Kansas City; a daughter, Mrs. Herman Cox of Winterset; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held last Saturday from Anderson's funeral home in charge of the Rev. W. A. Samp, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
