Ferne Jackson, Winterset

Graveside services for Ferne Jackson, 95, Winterset, who died Nov. 22 at her residence, were held Monday, Nov. 28, at the Winterset Cemetery with the Rev. Clarence Lautt officiating.

Born in Patterson on September 20, 1893, she was the daughter of Findley and Hattie McClary Addy. She was a retired school teacher and taught in the Madison county rural school system. She had attended the Earlham Teaching Academy.

She was married to Charles Ryan who died in 1922. She married W. F. Jackson in 1933 at Morris, Ill., and he died Feb. 2, 1949.

Mrs. Jackson was a lifetime resident of Madison County and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Winterset.

Survivors include a son, Maurice of Vista, Calif.; a daughter, Francene Ford of Vista; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; two sisters and three grandchildren.
