Wednesday, October 11, 1944Mrs. Elizabeth Vulgamott, a resident of Madison county for the past seven years, died at the Winterset hospital Sunday. She was 83 years of age.
Mrs. Vulgamott was a native of Virginia, where she was born near Front Royal on Dec. 31, 1860. She was the former Elizabeth Biggs, daughter of Joseph and Isabell Biggs.
In 1883 she moved to Toulon, Ill., making her home with an uncle until 1887, when she was married to Calvin Vulgamott. They lived in Stark county, Illinois several years, then in Peoria, and in 1916 moved to Bowling Green, Mo. they lived on a farm near Bowling Green until Mr. Vulgamott's death in 1934. She came to Madison county in 1937.
Her nearest surviving relatives are four half-sisters, Mrs. John Graves of Winterset, Mrs. Will Ripsch of Pontiac, Ill., and Mrs. Frederick Schultz and Myrtle Biggs of Peoria, Ill.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
