William Jesse Imes, son of the pioneer settlers of Madison county, died Sept. 3 at the age of 92 years.

Mr. Imes was born in Holmes county, Ohio, on July 4, 1852. He came to Iowa at an early age and spent the rest of his life in Madison county. He had lived for more than 75 years on the farm where his death occurred.

He was married in September, 1888, to Ida Ann Beem. They were the parents of three sons. The wife and mother died on Nov. 15, 1911, and one son, Floyd Ralph, died in 1931.

Mr. Imes was a member of the Elm Grove Methodist church.

He is survived by his two sons, Beryl Imes of Denver, Colo., and Roy M. Imes on the home farm; seven grandsons, two of whom are in the armed services; and five great grandchildren.
