Prominent Penn Township Farmer Was 75 Years Of Age
Roy A. Imboden, prominent Penn township farmer and a life-long resident of that community, died Saturday, October 3, in the house where he was born. He was 75 years of age.
Mr. Imboden was a life-long resident of Penn township where he was born Jan. 31, 1889, a son of Frederick and Louisa Fites Imboden. His life was spent in farming, and he was a leader in his community. He was a past president of the Madison County Farm Bureau, served on the county AAA committee, and was an officer in his local telephone company and a bank vice-president.
He was a member of the Penn Center Methodist church, where he was on the official board of the church.
He was married Dec. 13, 1911 to Ruth Hawkins, who survives him. He also leaves three daughters, Mrs. Jasper Lenocker of Dexter, Mrs. J. M. Knouf of San Antonio, Tex., and Mrs. William L. Jackson of Des Plaines, Ill.; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Cora Boyles of Earlham.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Penn Center church, in charge of the Rev. John Latta. Burial was made in the Penn Center cemetery.
