Wednesday, June 14, 1944Mrs. J. W. Frankleberger, a pioneer Winterset resident, died at her home here Monday. She was about 89 years of age.
Mrs. Frankleberger's life was identified with almost the entire history of Winterset. She was born in this community in the early 50's, but a few short years after it had been founded and while it was still a pioneer village. Her entire life was spent as a resident of this town.
She was the former Annice Danner, daughter of Michael and Elizabeth Danner. As a young woman she was married to J. W. Frankelberger, who for many years was a prominent Winterset grocer and became one of the influential citizens of the community. Mr. Frankelberger died a number of years ago.
Her nearest surviving relatives are two nieces, Mrs. Leo Weston of Whittier, Calif., and Mrs. Louise Herron of Twin Falls, Ida., and a great niece, Mrs. Mary Stonedale of Minneapolis, Minn.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Anderson Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Arthur Mortenson, pastor of the Winterset Presbyterian church. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
