December 28, 1955DEMPSEY WILSON Died On Tuesday
Dempsey E. Wilson of Winterset died this Tuesday, Dec. 27, 1955, at Veterans Memorial hospital in Des Moines, after an illness of several months. He was 62 years of age.
Mr. Wilson was a life-long resident of Madison county, and during his active years was a farmer.
He was born in Lincoln township on Feb. 20, 1893, a son of William H. and Ida Orton Wilson. He served in the U.S.armed forces during World War I
He was married Feb. 20, 1921, to Blanche Stephenson of Patterson, who survives him. He also leaves four children: Mrs. Fern Downard of Des Moines, Mrs. Mildred Folck of Winterset, Earl Wilson of Des Moines, and Virgil Wilson, at home.
In addition, he leaves a sister, Mrs. Blanche Baker of Estherville, and four brothers, Lewis Wilson of Rochester, Minn., Ersie Wilson of Lorimor, Glenn Wilson of Booneville, and Verl Wilson of Estherville.
Funeral services will be held this Friday from the Richards funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. George DeF Fisher, pastor of the Winterset Presbyterian church. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
