Former Winterset Business Man Had Lived 20 Years on West Coast
Edd Kipp, former business man, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 1955, at Paradise, Caif. where he had been making his home recently with Mr. and Mrs. Robert White. He was 73 years of age. He had been hospitalized several times in the past two months.
Mr. Kipp was a native of Madison county. He was born west of Winterset, on July 1, 1882, a son of William H. and Lida Underwood Kipp. Most of his active life was spent in Winterset. He was a painter and paper-hanger, by trade, and for many years operated a paint and wall-paper store in Winterset. He moved from here to California about 20 years ago.
He was married to the former Rose Holloway. Her death occurred in California abut two years ago.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. George Haymond of Winterset; and three step-daughters, Mrs. Robert White and Cleta Gordon of Paradise, Calif., and Mrs. Donald Sage of Waterloo.
Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at Paradise, with burial in that community.
