Mrs. O. E. Husted, a resident of the Truro and Winterset communities most of her life, died this Tuesday, Jan. 7, at a sanitarium in Los Angeles, Calif.
Mrs. Husted was the widow of the late O. E. Husted, who served as state senator from the Madison-Adair district for many years.
She had been in failing health for several years and had moved to California four years ago to make her home with a daughter, Mrs. John Miskey.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset. A granddaughter, Mrs. Shirley Coberly and daughter, Cristal, of Los Angeles are accompanying the body to Winterset.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Wilson Funeral home, with the Rev. W. A. Samp of Winterset officiating. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mrs. Etna Husted, 84, a former Des Moines resident and widow of Ora Husted, Truro, former Iowa legislator, died Tuesday of a stroke at Los Angeles, Cal., where she made her home with a daughter.
The late Mr. Husted was elected Madison County state representative in 1930 and to the Iowa Senate from the Madison-Adair senatorial district in 1932 and 1936. He resigned in 1939 to become a homestead tax exemption investigator for the Stale Tax Commission.
Mr. and Mrs. Husted lived in Des Moines 10 years before moving to Winterset. She went to California four years ago.
Services for Mrs. Husted will be at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Wilson Funeral Home at Winterset.
Mrs. Husted is survived by the daughter, Mrs. J. Miskey; two sons, Cresley of Des Moines and Merrill of Winterset; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset for Mrs. Ora Husted, formerly of Truro and Winterset, whose death had occurred Jan. 7 at Los Angeles, California. The Rev. Walter Samp of Winterset conducted the services. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
Mrs. Husted was the widow of Ora E. Husted, who served as state senator from Madison county for many years. She was the former Etna E. Kale, daughter of James and Beulah King Kale, and was born in the Elm Grove neighborhood Oct. 20, 1879. She was 84 years of age at her death.
She was married to Ora E. Husted on Jan. 22, 1899. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Cresley Husted of Des Moines and Merrill Husted of Winterset, a daughter, Mrs. Esther Miskey of Los Angeles; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother O. H. Kale of Paradise.
