Eugene G. Husted of Knoxville died Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at the age of 79.
He was born Oct. 5, 1901 in Madison County, the son of Thomas E. and Lucinda Husted. On Dec. 17, 1919, he married Lois G. Collins in Osceola.
Survivors include his wife, Lois, son Bill of Knoxville, four daughters, Elaine Verlin of Sigourney, Kathryn Dutcher of Carlisle, Carol Van Fleet of Sigourney, and Betty Gill of San Miguel, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Clyde and Virgie Husted, three half-brothers, Frank and Eldon Husted and Frank Childers, one half-sister, Edith Childers Allen and daughter Marjorie.
Services were held Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Kale Funeral Home in Truro with burial in the St. Charles Cemetery.
