Bill Husted, St. Charles

Billie "Bill" M. Husted, 69, of St. Charles died May 21, 2004 at his home.

Memorial services with Masonic rites performed by Model Lodge No. 315 A.F.& A.M. of St. Charles, were held Tuesday, May 25 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with the Rev. Dennis Shepherd officiating. Burial of the cremains was at Blair Chapel Cemetery, South Township, Madison County.

Bill Husted was born March 27, 1935 in Winterset to Merrill Raymond and Inez (Lodge) Husted. He was a graduate of Winterset High School and Area II Community College (DMACC) where he was enfrolled in a two-year tool and die program. On June 28, 1957, he was united in marriage to Harriet Ann Kilpatrick in Winterset. A farmer, Bill also worked in quality control for John Deere Manufacturing in Ankeny, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Truro United Methodist Church, International Cessna 170 Club and Cyclone Corvette Club and a life member of the Antique Airplane Association and the Experimental Aircraft Association. He also was a member of Model Lodge No. 315 A.F.& A.M. in St. Charles and the Royal Order of Jesters, Flying Fez and Antique Tractor Club of the Za Ga Zig Shrine in Des Moines.

He is survived by his wife Harriet, of St. Charles; two daughters, Joanie Stuart of New Virginia and Melissa Husted of Lee's Summit, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Truro United Methodist Church or the Truro Public Library.
