The community was grieved to learn of the death of Mrs. Matz Jungman, at her home, Wednesday morning, July 30th, 1930. She had been bedfast for several months and was in the Iowa Methodist hospital a portion of the time. Mrs. Jungman was Dorothea Wilhelmina Marquardt, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Marquardt. She was born April 9, 1884, and lived the entire forty-six years of her life in this vicinity. On December 20, 1905, she was united in marriage to Matz Jungman.
To this union were born thirteen children, ten boys and three girls, all of whom are living: Ferdinand, Harold, Leo, Marvin, Elmer, Lucille, Raymond, Ernest, Esther, Robert, Lloyd, Paul and Alberta. Besides her husband and children she leaves her mother, Mrs. August Marquardt, three sisters, Mrs. Manda Wishmier, Mrs. Bertha Massz, of Whitewater, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Emma Jensen, and four brothers, William, Rufus, Carl and August Marquardt.
The funeral services were held at the United Brethren church Friday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. J. H. Hampshire. The six oldest sons served as pall bearers. The interment was in the Van Meter cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Matz Jungman whose death occurred July 30, were held Friday afternoon at two o'clock in the United Brethren church of Van Meter conducted by the Rev. J. H. Hampshire. Burial was in the Van Meter cemetery.
Dortha Wilhelmina Marquardt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Marquardt, was born in Madison county April 9, 1884. Her death occurred at the age of 46. She was married December 10, 1905 and all of the thirteen children survive, Ferdinand, Harold, Leo, Marvin, Elmer, Lucile, Raymond, Esther, Earnest, Robert, Lloyd, Paul, and Alberta.
Mrs. Jungman was born and reared a Lutheran and was confirmed ib the church when a child. Later she identified herself with the United Brethren church where the rest of her family belonged and attended.
In addition to her husband and children she leaves her mother, Mrs. Augusta Marquardt, three sisters, Mrs. Manda Wishmier, Mrs. Bertha Massy of Whiteriver, Wisconsin; Mrs. Emma Jensen; four brothers, Will, Rufus, Carl and August Marquardt.
