ROBERT JAMES CRAWFORD

Robert James Crawford, son of Oliver and Lucinda Crawford, was born December 28, 1849, in Coshocton county, Ohio, and died near Winterset, July 27, 1930.

When four years of age he came with his parents and settled in what is now known as Crawford township, Madison county, which township was named after his pioneer parents.

He was married March 20, 1875, to Louisa Lou Stith, to which union was born one son, C. W. Crawford, of Winterset. Two brothers also survive him; they are: W. W. Crawford and C. S. Crawford, both of Patterson.

A great many years of his life were spent near Patterson, where folks knew him to be a genial, likable man, which characteristics gained for him many friends.

The arrangements for the funeral were in charge of Ramsey-Richards, and the services were held at the Patterson M. E. church, conducted by Rev. John T. Hall. Interment was in the cemetery north of Patterson. (Montpelier)

Death of R. J. Crawford

Funeral services for Robert James Crawford were held at the Patterson Methodist church, Tuesday, July 29th, at 3 o’clock, Reverend John T. Hall, of the Baptist church of Winterset, conducting the services. Burial was in the cemetery north of Patterson.

Mr. Crawford was born in Coshocton county, Ohio, December 28, 1849, the son of Oliver and Lucinda Crawford. He came to Madison county with his parents, when four years of age. They settled in what is now known as Crawford township. The township was named after his parents.

He was married March 20, 1875, to Louisa Lou Stith. One son was born to this union, C. W. Crawford, of Winterset. He is also survived by two brothers, W. W. and C. S. Crawford, of Patterson.
