Janice Hurd, Osceola

Janice Irene Hurd, 56, of Osceola, died in her home of cancer on July 17, 1996. Funeral services were held July 19, at the Kale Funeral Home in Osceola and were officiated by the Rev. Richard Harbart of Des Moines. Burial was at the Hartman Cemetery in Truro.

She was born November 23, 1939 in Truro to Gerald and Lillie Goodrich Myers. She graduated in 1957 from Truro High School and worked as a line worker at Furnas Electric in Osceola since 1991.

She was preceded in death by her father; one brother; one sister; and one nephew.

Surviving relatives include her three daughters, Barbara Binder of Truro, Rebecca Whetstone and husband Dennis of Carroll, and Susan Blunk and husband Mike of New London; her mother of Osceola; one sister, Carol Clarke and husband Phil of Osceola; one brother, LeRoy Myers and wife Dee of Truro; and six grandchildren.
