William McCrea, who had lived on a farm two miles east of St. Charles for the past 38 years, died there June 17. He was 78 years of age.

Mr. McCrea was the son of James and Henrietta McCrea, and was born on a farm near Pella on Jan. 30, 1866.

He is survived by his wife, and two sons, Horace and Herman McCrea.

Funeral services were held from the St. Charles Methodist church June 20, in charge of the Rev. Marguerite Shepard. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
