Page 7Rites Saturday For ROBERT YOUNG
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home in Winterset for Robert Young of Des Moines, who was killed Saturday, Nov. 12, 1955, in an automobile crash on highway No. 92, near Patterson. The Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church, conducted the services. Burial was made in the Primitive Baptist cemetery near Winterset.
Mr. Young was 57 years of age at his death. He was born Sept. 16, 1898, at St. Joseph, Mo, but most of his early life was spent in Winterset, where he attended school.
He was married Oct. 8, 1919, to Ruth Marie Waltz of this community. She was critically injured in the same accident in which her husband was killed, but is reported as improved this week at Memorial hospital.
After leaving Winterset about 25 years ago, Mr. Young lived many years in Newton, and for several years in California. He was a construction worker by trade.
In addition to his wife, he leaves five children, Ted Young of Granada Hills, Calif., Robert Young, Jr. of California, Mrs. Dorothy Kilpatrick of North Hollywood, Calif., Mrs. Bessie Ely of Sun Valley, Calif., and John Young of Waterloo. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Helen Hamilton of Ackworth.
