C. R. Hughes, 72, of Winterset, died March 10, 1997 of a heart attack at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Funeral services were held Friday, March 14, 1997 at Swifton Pentecostal Church of God in Swifton, Ark. Burial was in the Swifton (Ark.) Cemetery.

He was a retired member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Delaney Hughes and wife Sherry of Winterset and Robby Hughes and wife Emilie of Alvin, Texas and four grandchildren.
