I. L. Clopton, a resident of Madison county since childhood, died Sunday at the Lane Nursing home in Winterset. He was 81 years of age.

Mr. Clopton was born at Albany, Mo., on May 31, 1862, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Clopton. His father enlisted in the army in the Civil war, and died in that conflict. He came to Madison county with his mother as a small boy, and the rest of his life was spent here.

He was married in 1889 to Mary Ann Davis. They were the parents of six children, four of whom survive. The wife and mother died a few years later. Their children who survive are: Fred Clopton of Macon, Mo., Robert Clopton of Winterset, Mrs. Nell Carr of Des Moines, and Mrs. Vina Baird of Garden Grove.

He was later married to Mrs. Elizabeth Robbins, and they were the parents of six children, four of whom survive. They were: Haymond Clopton, Gaymond Clopton of Van Meter, Mrs. Dorothy DeBok of Winterset, and Mrs. Doris Flynn of San Diego, Calif.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from Anderson's Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

ISAAC CLOPTON DIED SATURDAY

Isaac L. Clopton, well known Winterset in Madison county resident, died at the Nursing Home in Winterset on Saturday, January 15, at the age of 81 years.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at two p.m. in the Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Foglesong in charge. Interment was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Isaac Lincoln Clopton, son of Robert and Priscilla Clopton, was born in Albany, Missouri, on May 31, 1862. He was married in 1882 Mary Ann Davis, and they were the parents of six children; Eddie died in infancy, and Bennie in 1910. Mrs. Mary Ann Clopton died in February 1889. In 1902, he was married to Mrs. Elizabeth Robbins. To this union were born six children, Raymond died in July 1943, and Herbert in 1933.

Mr. Clopton is the last member of a family of five brothers and sisters. His entire life was spent in this county.

He is survived by his wife and H children, Fred Clopton of Macon, Missouri; Mrs. Vina Baird of Garden Grove, Robert Clopton the Winterset, Mrs. Nell Carr of Des Moines, Haymond of Iowa, Dorothy DeBOk of Winterset, Gaymond of Van Meter and Doris Flynn of San Diego, California; two stepdaughters, 21 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a number of other relatives and friends.
