Former St. Charles resident Susan Dorothy Huffman, 92, died August 18, 1993 at Wesley Acres in Des Moines. Graveside services were held Monday at Wallace Cemetery at Wick, Ia. with the Rev. Dennis Tevis of Des Moines officiating.

Mrs. Huffman was born January 28, 1901 in Keokuk County to John and Anna (Wardrip) Maxwell. She married Leo Huffman in August of 1931. She was a teacher in Martensdale before operating the Motor Freight business in St. Charles. She was a resident of Wesley Acres retirement home for the past 17 years. She had been a member of the St. Charles United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister and one brother.

Surviving relatives are a sister, Marguerite Maxwell of Des Moines, two nieces and two nephews.
