Ron Hubbs, 37, of Haysville, Kan., died Sept. 29, 1999, at his residence. The cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 4, at Ochiltree Funeral Service with Pastor Robert Barrick officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Ron Hubbs was born July 14, 1962, in San Angelo, Texas. He is the son of Ronald Hubbs and Raymond and Betty (Zimmerman) Ridout. A 1981 graduate of Winterset High School. Ron was a grocery manager for Checkers Grocers in Wichita, Kan., and previously worked for Dahl's Foods in Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by two grandfathers and a stepbrother.

He is survived by a son, Brandon Hubbs of Decatur, Ill.; his mother, Betty Ridout (husband Raymond) of Van Meter; his father, Ronald Hubbs of Hays, Kan.; a brother, Brandon Hubbs (wife Leeanne) of Bridgewater; two stepbrothers, Craig Ridout of Springhill, Kan., and Kevin Ridout (wife Kari) of Des Moines; one stepsister, Kristie Nielson (husbvand Kevin) of Lacona; grandmothers Barbara Zimmerman of Greeley, Colo., and Josphine Hubbs of Hays, Kan.; and stepgrandparents Wayne and Flossie Ridout of rural Lorimor.

Memorial contributions may be directed to a fund, which has been established in his name.
