MRS. FRED HUNTER Of Earlham Dies

Mrs. Fred Hunter, well known Earlham and Madison county resident, died at the Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines, Sunday evening, March 10th, 1957, at the age of 60 years, after several weeks illness.

Mrs. Hunter, the former Helen Briggs, was a native of Chicago, and was a graduate of Chicago University. She was a member of the Delta Gamma national sorority, and came to Earlham, where she taught in the high school. She was married to Mr. Hunter, June 1, 1927, and she had since resided in Earlham, where she had taken an active interest in the activities of that community.

In addition to her husband, she leaves two daughters, Margaret (Mrs. Marvin) Schafer of Earlham and Elizabeth (Mrs. Paul) Christensen of Cedar Hill, a suburb of St. Louis, Mo. She also leaves three grandchildren who reside in Earlham.

Private funeral services were held at the St. Paul Episcopal church, in Des Moines, of which she was a member, Wednesday morning, and burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
