ANDREW OVERDYK Rites Held Thursday

Andrew J. Overdyk of near Winterset died Monday, May 29, 1972, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. He was 69 years of age.

Mr. Overdyk was a native of Jasper county, where he was born July 30, 1902, a son of P. W. and Pietie Bierma Overdyk. He had lived in Madison county for the last 18 years, and had engaged in farming here.

He was married at Chariton on July 10, 1949 to Clara Borger, who survives him.

Mr. Overdyk was a member of the West Des Moines Nazarene church.

In addition to his wife, he leaves six children, Andrea Overdyk of Creston, and Edward, William, Evelyn, Howard and Linda Overdyk, at home; a step-son, the Rev. Frederick C. Borger of Esterville; two step grandchildren; and a brother, W. P. Overdyk of Runnels.

Funeral services were held last Thursday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Bernard Dawson of West Des Moines. Burial was made in the Chase McDonald Cemetery in Douglas Township, Madison County.
