Ronald Howell, DeSoto

Ronald Franklin Howell, 37, of DeSoto, died of a gunshot wound July 20, 1995 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were July 24 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The Rev. Bill Branson officiated the services and burial was at the Montpelier Cemetery in Madison County.

He was born in Winterset on March 12, 1958 to Doyle Franklin and Beverley Anne (Algreen) Howell. He was a carpenter and spent his early part of life in Madison County.

Surviving relatives include his father and step-mother, Doyle Howell and Ernestine of Linterberry, Ill.; mother and step-father, Beverley Williams of DeSoto and Gene of Indianola; one daughter, Shelby Howell of Adel; three brothers, Gary Howell of Winterset, Danny Howell of Lincoln, Nebr., and Mark Howell of Winterset; two sisters, Sheryl Cronk of Winterset and Melinda Wolfe of Des Moines; two step-brothers, Russell Ridder of Springfield, Ill., and Gene Williams of S.C.; two step-sisters, Judy Logan of Ft. Collins, Colo, and Brenda Jacoby of Loveland, Colo.; three step-daughters, Karen Sanders and Tracie Masion of Des Moines and Michele Hodges of Tacoma, Wash.; and four step-grandchildren.
