Services Held For Muriel Howell

Funeral services were held from the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset for Mrs. Hugo (Muriel) Howell this morning (Wednesday). Rev. Alan Parker officiated at the service with burial in the Norwalk Cemetery. Mrs. Howell died at Madison County Memorial Hospital Saturday.

Muriel E. Howell was born in Madison county April 11, 1904 the daughter of Fred H. and Mary E. Wilkinson with the exception of three years, she spent all her life in Madison County. She was married to Hugo H. Howell February 18, 1928 at Ontario, California. Mr. Howell passed away February 14, 1978.

Mrs. Howell was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, served on the Madison County Memorial Hospital board and was a member of Chapter AG PEO for over fifty years.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Mary Ann) Wahrer of Tucson, Arizona, Mrs. Dick (Patricia McCauley and Jean Wight of Camarillo, California and three sons, Mark Howell of Cumming, Bruce Howell of Des Moines and Craig Howell of Fanwood, New Jersey, seventeen grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Macumber and Mrs. W. Ed (Margaret) Clark, both of Winterset.
