Wednesday, June 24, 1942Mrs. Will Avey, a resident of Penn township, since April, died last Saturday as she was being rushed to the state hospital at Clarinda after having drunk poison the preceding day, in a suicide attempt.
Mrs. Avey was 39 years of age. She had been living on the Franz Lenocker farm in Penn township where her husband is employed. The family came there in April from Stuart.
Mrs. Avey's death occurred just as Sheriff A. E. Null's car arrived in Clarinda. The coroner in that community was called, but no inquest was held.
Mrs. Avey is survived by her husband; and three small children: Violet, aged 10, Ralph, aged 9, and Lawrence, aged 4.
