Macksburg (Special)--Leo N. Pinckney, a resident of this community since pioneer days, died at his farm home near here, Sunday, at the age of 79 years.
Mr. Pinckney was the son of J. W. and Mary Arasmith Pinckney, and was born May 18, 1863, near Andover, Illinois. At the age of 6 years he came with his parents, to this county. They settled in Grand River township. He attended the rural schools there, and the Macksburg high school.
On February 26, 1893, he was married to Della Mae Blair. They made their home in Monroe township. They were the parents of one daughter, Bertha. They also reared an adopted daughter, Florence.
He had been a member of the Fellowship Congregational church since 1905.
In addition to his wife, she is survived by the two daughters, Mrs. H. M. Saxton of Winterset, and Mrs. Walter Smith; one sister, Mrs. Edith Hilberry of Macksburg; and two brothers, George Pinckney, of Macksburg, and Joe Pinckney of Winterset. He also leaves five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Macksburg Methodist church, Tuesday, in charge of the Rev. C. E. Courtney of the Winterset United Presbyterian church. Burial was made in the Moon cemetery.
