Mrs. William Allen of near Winterset died at the Winterset hospital last Saturday after a year of failing health. She was 69 years of age.

Mrs. Allen was the former Elizabeth Mulcahy, and was born May 15, 1873, near Walnut, Iowa. She was married on Jan. 7, 1903, to William Allen. They were the parents of two sons.

The family moved to this community in 1925.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by the two sons, William Paul Allen at home, and John Allen of Patterson; a brother, John Mulcahy of Casey; and four sisters, Katharyn Mulcahy and Mrs. Marguerite Shannon of Casey, Mrs. William Grant of Menlo, and Mrs. Sadie Erickson of Butte, Mont.

Funeral services were held Monday from St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. C. Portel. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Bass, Patrick Kirvin, James Corkrean, Henry Morrissey, Harold Kester and Ambrose Grant.
